Identification: The Kral'Kuru, or rock trolls, are a huge and rugged race. Their bodies are monstrous in size, standing over 2.4 meters tall and weighing a phenomenal 600 kilograms. Their features are chiseled and rough and their bodies are devoid of hair. Their bodies are covered by a thick, stony hide, with large protrusions of thick calcium deposits. They appear in any color that is prevalent in rock formations, and many are streaked with veins of minerals. Some even have gems studded within their rocky hides.
Habitat and Culture: Kral'Kuru are very solitary in nature. They tend to live in the remotest regions, but a few have been known to live in populated areas. Those that have come into contact with the civilized races are never the same and find it hard to ever go back to being alone.
Kral'Kuru are abandoned by their parents at a young age and must learn to fend for themselves. They tend to be brusque, but are never openly violent. They are slow and ponderous thinkers and possess an unlimited patience. They are tremendous sources of insight and wisdom, and they spend most of their time deep in thought. Kral'Kuru will often spend months or even years without moving. They believe that experiencing the things around them teaches them more than any book or tutor could.
The almost innate need to experience life is what makes them so interested in other races. Once they encounter other sentient beings, they will spend more and more time among them. Nature is all well and good, but it has a sense of predictability to it. Wolves are predators, rabbits the prey, and it is always the same. However, sentient beings are as different as the snowflakes that fall. Two feregs can be so different that one would wonder if they were realy of the same race or not. That is fascinating to the inquistive nature of the Kral'Kuru.
Kral'Kuru love meeting others of their race. When this hapens they will spend days, or longer, sharing the experiences that have filled their lives. A small group have established themsleves as scholars in the city of Wayfarers Way, and they are devoted to recording the life experiences of as many Kral'Kuru as they possibly can.
Racial Abilities: Kral'Kuru can see in any spectrum of light. Only the Mists seem to hinder their vision. Their hide is very strong and resistant to damage, giving them a natural AV8. They are also immune to even the harshest forms of weather. Kral'Kuru can also regenerate damage if they are in contact with natural ground. They recover one lost body point per hour of contact, and like all trollkin they can even regenerate lost limbs.
Attribute Modifiers: Kral'Kuru are very strong and resilient. They seem to have an abundance of knowledge about their surroundings, but lack true book knowledge as they spend most of their time alone. They are extremely slow because of their size and their rugged appearance is a distraction to others. They are above average wielders of magic, normally choosing to study the earth elemental arts or druidic magic, primarily due to their close ties to the earth.
