Karanesti

Identification: Karanesti are a very graceful and elegant race. They have long slender bodies and very fine, almost sculpted, features. Standing at 1.8 meters tall and weighing only 65 kilograms, they are often mistaken as frail. Skin color is most often pale pink or white, but in some cases skin can be pitch black. They are completely devoid of body and facial hair, but their head hair grows to long lengths.

Habitat and Culture: Karanesti originally dwelled within the Mists, but since have entered the True Realms. They tend to group together in secluded forest areas very near the Mists. Having descended from the true elves, they remain close to their ancestral homes whenever possible.

Karanesti are a peaceful race and enjoy nature and art to the highest degree. They venture into the Mists frequently and are very adept at magic, especially Mistrunning. Many of the greatest mages and scholars of the Realms are Karanesti, and they prize knowledge above all else. Karanesti artwork and crafts are treasured throughout the True Realms.

Karanesti are considered arrogant by other races, and this usually keeps them isolated most of the time. They do enjoy the company of Rygars, Andurans, and Nekrons, who share their love of nature. The Karanesti are the only race that frequently interacts with members of the faerie realms, and some are even rumored to be minor nobles in the Faerie Court. This is primarily because they are descended from the elvish lines that mingled with the mortals of old.

The Karanesti are also a carefree race. They spend much of their time frolicking in the wilds, dancing and singing. The view time as an abstract thing, something they obviously inherited from their elvish forefathers. Many, espcially the Druga, consider them too frivilous and insist that they waste too much time on personal enjoyment. However, the Karanesti are free spirits, and care little for what others have to say about them, they live their lives as they see fit. Life is meant to be enjoyed and experienced. They actually pity the Druga and their mindless pursuit of hard work.

Racial Abilities: Karanesti have the ability to see in the infra-red spectrum, and their sight is unhindered by the Mists. They are very nimble and can move over thick growth with relative ease. Karanesti never sleep, but instead enter a meditation state when necessary to heal the body. A Karanesti share a special innate Mistrunning ability and have a +1 bonus to any such activities.

Attribute Modifiers: Karanesti are agile and very perceptive of their surroundings. Their small body mass makes them slightly weaker than average. Their easy lives makes them mildly unhealthy. They are very beautiful and can often overwhelm others with their charisma. Also, because of their ancestral link to the Mists, Karanesti are quite adept at the magical arts.
