So far, yes. All this is true. Classic and unsupported, there is little
we as fans can affect. That decision resides solely in the hands of WotC.
As for fullfilling our memberships, I have understood that in recent months
a transfer to other FRPG clubs was an option. Now, it seems our contact in
this, Ryan, is seeing fit to honor them in some way, although exactly how
remains a mystery. the sad part is, most of us have had to wait *two
years* to be compensated. This is from a company that prides itself on
customer service. And while all this time has passed, there were still
people I am sure who bought Rage, and learned of the GN and sent money in
to it, while FRPG/WotC knew that those memberships were not going to be
honored. That is a crime. As far as I know, no officail statments were
issued that GN was dead, and people were not to send money in anymore. And
while I have been absent largely from this list these past few months, I do
keep abreast. Was any of this info published in Top Deck, Matt? Was the
status of Rage (or any other now classic game) addressed in your mag?
Ryan, I am not out to murder your rep, or mucksling. After all,
you've only been Classic Brand Manager a month, right? What you are
experiencing here are old wounds that have never healed, and the medicinal
balm has resided in FRPG's hands unused. You've sent us all "cool stuff".
This is certainly a step in the right direction. I will let you know
what I think of the goodies sent when I recieve them. And actually being a
gentle soul, I will apologize if my posts here have been tinged with a
certain edge. I am currently experiencing a giant puss-bag of hypocrisy
from another gaming company, one I am doing design for. It is ringing a
little too much in my ears like what I went through last year with
FRPG/WotC. Just bad timing that this came up now. Sorry.

Refuse, good to see my old friend still digging in the dirt here. And to
all the rest of you, hello as well. It's been a while since I said my
goodbyes. But I will be appearing back here with more regularity very
soon. The project I am involved with draws to a conclusion soon, and Rage
will recieve more of my full attention again. To whit, the second Stones
River Challenge at Columbus, Ohio. To date, I estimate around 20 for a
showing, just from old friends and Septmates in the Rage community. Septs
represented will be my own Stones River Sept, the Sept of the Green Dragon,
and Matt and Dave's Soaring Peace Caern. This will once again be a
"storyline" tourney, but I will not make the mistake of counting on WotC
for promised support again. I will write a backstory for this one as well,
and tie it into last year's tourney and the future ones as well. Nothing
to do directly with the RALV storyline, so no worries of plagerism or such.
Also, "cool stuff" will be prizes, such as a skull fetish (real skull), a
stylized d'siah weapon. and a handcrafted Crinos statue of Beouwulf
Dracosanni, last year's tourney winner of the center peice of Wanchese's
Klaive. In short, Fenris and I will be providing the support for Rage that
it should have gotten all along. And you would be surprised just how
little effort and cost is going into it. Amazing what a couple of fans can
acheive with little resources that a large comapny with millions at it's
disposal would/could not do. And should have. Looking forward to meeting
you all there.
